CSAC meets for AGM 2022

The Coventry Sub Aqua Club met on 1st December at the Earlsdon Rugby Football Club for its 2022 Annual General Meeting.

The evening began with the consideration of two motions submitted for debate by ordinary members. The first motion, proposing that a reduction in the number of “general members” elected to the club’s committee, passed. The second motion, proposing that the club purchases a automated external defibrillator (AED), failed.

After discussions, members heard reports from the four officers of the branch – the Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Diving Officer – before hearing from candidates seeking election to the next year’s committee.

Ben Burbery, who joined the club this year and would go on to qualify as an Ocean Diver two weeks after the AGM, became the club’s new Chairman.

Tony Glowacz, who also joined the club this year after qualifying with PADI, became the club’s new Secretary.

Jeff Nelmes was returned to the role of Treasurer for a third year.

The outgoing Chairman, Jack Harvey, challenged the incumbent Diving Officer, Liam Crossley, for his role. At the final count, there were three votes in it, but Liam retained the role of Diving Officer for a third time.
